OK, I admit to being more than a little surprised to see that it's been over a year since my last entry... What's been going on in my life to prompt such negligence? Well... Where do I start? At the moment the thing taking up most of my waking hours (and disturbing those hours when I choose not to be awake) is the building work going on next door. Our neighbour of several years died about 18 months ago and their family agreed the sale of the house next door back in July / August. The day after the sale went through, the new owners were here digging foundations, taking down the fence between us and ripping out the interior of the house... This is still ongoing & the builders are working 6 days most weeks, occasionally 7, starting at 7 in the morning and not finishing until the evening (8pm last night for example). We've had debris falling into our garden (including bits of scaffolding & bits of roof tiles) to the extent that we couldn't use our garden after they started the work... They've damaged our property, borrowed tools indefinitely & the debris on our drive has cost us 2 new tyres... All in all, not a happy state of affairs.
For most of the year, my day job has kept me incredibly busy and my part time photographic work has filled pretty much all of the time between sleep and work - as most of my photographic work is private commissions, I can't really post it on here (hence the lack of new work too).
I'm struggling to find the time to keep up with everything - I haven't touched my writing in months, I've not done any photography that was purely for pleasure in ages & I think I'm starting to loose my mind...
Things are looking even busier next year from a photography perspective, which has to be a good thing. Who knows, maybe next year I can start thinking seriously about ditching the day job...
